Katelijn Verstraete
East Asia Arts Director, British Council
Katelijn Verstraete is based in Singapore and currently leading on the work of the British Council in the arts and creative industries across East Asia, covering fourteen countries. She began her work in the creative sector in China with the set up of BizArt in 1999, the first independent art space in Shanghai. Since then she has worked on multi-stakeholder platforms between Asia and Europe in the areas of cultural policy, artistic exchange & collaboration, training and online platforms for www.ietm.org, www.on-the-move.org , www.asef.org and www.culture360.asef.org. Katelijn’s interest are on the intersection between arts, ecology and economy.
